Philippine Airlines launched a new scheduled flight between Guangzhou and Manila on July 17, 2013, with an Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration.

The first flight departed from Manila at 10:30pm on July 16 arriving in Guangzhou at 12:45am the next day. The return flight depart ed from Guangzhou at 2am on July 17 and arrived in Manila at 4:20am. The travel time was 2 hours 15 minutes.

After China Southern Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air, Philippine airlines will serve as the third carrier on the route of Guangzhou to Manila. The launch of Philippine airlines not only enhances the economic relationship between Guangzhou and Manila, but also provides a new choice for Chinese passengers traveling to South East Asia, promoting the tourism and business between the two countries.
